Club Business  Report - September 11 Meeting
Last  Week's Meeting was all about  "Club Business"

Our welcomes included Andreas, Hannah, ( our RYLA nominee) and Joe Siragusa. Joe submitted his application for membership on the night and was warmly welcomed. More about Joe at a future meeting but he is recent resident of Mornington, with an extensive background at NAB including in the NT and Tasmania.

We started the meeting with an excellent presentation from Andreas, about Denmark. There was no doubt about how his communication and English skills must have contributed to his selection.

Each of our Committee Chair's gave an  update on what they are up to. Without going into all the detail there is a lot happening and members were asked to contribute by
1. Identifying any prospective members or friends to the membership committee.
2. Securing any sponsors or silent auction prizes for the Art Show.
3. Suggesting any significant local community project for the next few years.

The Board’s recommendation to contribute $1400 for a companion dog to a Mornington Primary School student, on the recommendation of the Principal, was endorsed.

Thanks to Neil too who presented a Certificate of Recognition he received at last Thursday nights Volunteer function at Bunnings.

Next week we have Ian Stephenson as our Guest Speaker, and he will talk about Fossil Beach, from its remarkable geological history to its role as a cement works servicing Melbourne to its current day preservation.

Weekend Away  October 12 & 13 at the Goldfields Resort at Creswick

You need to book your room direct with the RACV Resort on either www.racv.com.au or call 53459600. Again can you please let Eileen know if you are coming so we can plan some activities including the dinner on Saturday night. There is a golf course and Ballaarat is 15 minutes away. Those that have already registered should have received a detailed email about all the activity options we have.
