10th October 2021
From the Editor's Desk
Good afternoon to my fellow Mornington Rotary Colleagues and partners. I hope everyone is going along OK on this beautiful Sunday afternoon ? This week has been marked by the Annual Seniors Week and having a look thru the local media outlets there has been a fair bit going on with most activities restricted to on-lime formats, but never the less I hope that some of our members may have participated in the many events on offer.  A special note this week to two of our members in Dennis and Leigh who have both paid a visit to the medical farterninty for some maintenance issues and from all our club members and partners we wish these two gents a speedy recovery. I also see that our own Mornington Peninsula Regional Art Gallery has been the recipient of a very large injection of funds, via the Federal Government, to revitalise the Art Community with coming out of Covid, and on that note lets hope that this " coming out of Covid " has the much needed flow on effect for our own Mornington Art Show in Jan 2022.

Club Meetings - Last Week  - Club Board Meeting

At last weeks meeting we saw the regular required Club Board Meeting. A large number of items were tabled and discussed, with deliberations being made on a wide range of matters.
The details from the Board Meeting has now been compiled and sent out via our Club Secretary, for all members to read over. Should you wish to view the minutes from this latest Club Board Meeting or for that matter all past Board Meeting Minutes they can be viewed on our Club Website Page under;  Tab - Members Only > Board Meetings.

Upcoming Club Meeting- Wed 10th Oct 21 - Club Assembly - Earlier Start Time @ 5;00pm

At this weeks upcoming meeting we will conduct our Club Assembly and on an important note: as a result of a "clash of other Rotary online meetings"  we will be starting our Meeting and an earlier time frame of 5:00 pm. So as was the case last week with Daylight savings please " set your regular starting time slot forward one hour. Our President will be sending out (either later today or early tomorrow morning) the Clubs forecast Budget Spreadsheet and also the Social/ Events Calendar. This will allow all members the visibility to peruse these two important documents prior to the meeting. We will also have each one of our Chairs provide a brief PPT presentation of current and proposed upcoming projects, as well as a brief review of events within our club, since changeover way back in July.

As contained within The Presidents Report we as Rotarians today Sunday 10th Oct 21 acknowledge and celebrate ARH Lift The Lid Day, with the inability to come face to face to mark this very special day, at this weeks online meeting it would be great to see all those who tune-in, both members and their partner's to wear a hat in recognition. With your selection of headwear it would be great to see a hat that may have some special significance to you and even better if you are willing to share this with your fellow Rotarians and Partner's, or maybe a hat that you see that defines you and says "this is me because " !! , whatever hat you choose to wear lets get into the spirit and significance to this very, very worthwhile cause.

With the funds that we as a club contribute to Lift The Lid, reflects not only Mornington Rotary but every Rotarian out there as to what this institution means to each of us and how it has the ability to change peoples lives, so with Wednesday evening as we sit in front of the computor screen and not attending the Mornington Hotel to pay for the cost of a meal or a glass of red it might be an idea for each of us and an individual to " to reach into our wallets/ purses" and make a personnel contribution. Since going into lockdown we have had 12 meetings online, so that interprets into 12 meals of $20.00 and a glass of liquid refreshment of approx $8.00 and a figure of some $336.00 !! per person WOW, so what say we all " put in " the cost of at least one dinner and an ale at this weeks meeting ?? Club Account: Bendigo Bank - Mt Martha - Members Acct : BSB 633 000 & Act No 146 806 344 đź’°

Club Assembly Meeting via ZOOM : Meeting ID 896 2022 9766  & Passcode 791163
As per our normal ZOOM Meeting the President will send out directly to your e-mail address the Meeting Link.

ARH 40th Anniversary Dinner - Update
As a result of the "cancellation/ postponement" of the two scheduled dates for this special evening, the latest update is, even thought it may be some many months away that " all going well " that Saturday 21st May 2022 is now the new confirmed date. So if your Social Calendar goes out that far, pencil this one in.

To this end I will be sending out later today the Budget Forecast and also the Social & Events Calendar for members perusal.

Today Sunday 10th Oct 21 “ Lift The Lid “
Today is Rotary’s Lift The Lid Day, and in lieu of actually getting out and actively participating in a walk as a Club to mark this special day I hope we can celebrate by joining in at this weeks upcoming Club Assembly Meeting.
