From the Editor

Good morning to all my fellow Mornington Rotarians and their Partners. Well not a great deal to report from the Editor's Desk this week as he was " away from his desk" the past four days, but one item of note was, as we have grown to expect in lovely Mornington, was a very, very busy hive of activity over the current Easter Holiday break. I took a quick drive Main Street, yesterday afternoon at about 3;45pm and could not see a vacant table at any eateries !!!.  Great for business and the town in general. The weather is on our side and for those that ventured out and away from home I hope you had a great time with family and friends enjoying the holiday break.

Club Meeting- Last Week - Guest Speaker

At our Club Meeting, last week we had the pleasure to have Mr Graham Jones as our Guest Speaker.  Graham is a local Architect and Artist proved to be the enthusiastic speaker promised. Having grown up in Numurkah he enjoyed his music (and is the voice of the original TAA theme “Up, Up and Away” before travelling overseas and working in Stuttgart with his partner Ella. He worked in the footwear business for several years before taking his childhood interest in house design to the next level – home design. His well-known local practice has won 5 Awards (details at  https://grahamjonesdesign.com.au/ ) . Included in his designs is Villa Sasoon in Bali. Graham retired from the practice in 2013 and did do some consulting to the Sultan in Abu Dhabi before taking up painting in 2015 and has since painted over 700 pieces, had an Exhibition in Abu Dhabi and sold art in New York. His studio is at Southern Buoys in Mornington. Along the way he drew on some editorial skills he had developed and wrote his biography, which was the backbone of a very engaging, informative and enjoyable presentation.

Our Next Club Meeting - Wed 07th April 2021

At our Club's next upcoming meeting , this Wednesday 07th April 2021, we will be conducting a Club Assembly Meeting to discuss and deliberate a number of items pertaining to all our current " on the go projects" , and also we will hear from each one of our Club's Chair's on what their committee's are currently undertaking and also what might be projected as future ventures. So Club Assemblies are very important as they provide an avenue, for all Member's, to discuss , deliberate and be actively involved in all Club matters please come along, hope to see you there.
