Club Change Over Function
On Wednesday of last week our Club hosted its 2022/2023 Change Over Function at the magnificent Belerua House and Garden. From all accounts of those who attended and the numerous phone calls and e-mail message I have received have conveyed to me that the evening was a tremendous success. Events of this importance would not be possible without the hard work and planning of a number of our Club Members and I would like to formally acknowledge the great work done in enabling this evening to come to fruition.
To Victor Sullivan for his proposal and subsequent planning over the past two months working closely alongside with the Manager of Belerua House, Mr Martin Green and his support team, culminated in a wonderful evening. The setting, the food, the refreshments and the service were of an outstanding quality. Victor’s very experienced eye for detail, in every respect was the key to the success of the evening.
To Ian Horton in his no nonsense and very professional obligation’s, behind the scenes tasks, to ensure all the admin requirements for the evening went very smoothly indeed, and the very, very important aspect of ensuring our much respected three long serving members were afforded the District and RI awards.
I would also like to extend a very, very big thanks to our new Treasurer, Pam Hall for all her assistance in the lead up to the evening, and her professional duties as our MC, on the night. Pam took on this role with enthusiasm and her attention to detail and the Rotary Protocols was excellent.
To Cameron Guymer, a big thanks, to our new 2022/2023 Community Chair, who was “thrust into the spotlight” and delivered an earnest Rotary Toast to which our Immediate Past DG, Bill Degnan responded.
And to John Parkinson and Ian Horton for delivering a very heartfelt Bio on our three very respected and admired long serving members. Their account of Fran, Victor and John’s amazing service and contribution to Rotary was presented in an extremely sincere and enlightening manner, well done Gents.
Weekly Club Meeting – Menu Updates
As we are only to acutely aware the financial changes ( especially in regards to Primary Produce) we are
now experiencing which have resulted in the increase to our Weekly Meeting Dinner Fee’s, to $25.00 per Member/ Guest per meal. To provide a wider range of choices I have approached the Mornington Hotel Manager who has agreed to provide our Members with the full range of Senior Meals on the Hotel Menu, rather than our current 5 only choices, and also, we now have two of the Vegetarian Choice’s to add to this. The new Menu Selections will be displayed on the Welcome Desk Attendance Sheet at this week’s Club Meeting, commencing 06th July 2022.

As we move into an ever-increasing world of Technology some of the more traditional methods of receiving communication are now tending to be sent via Electronic Media. Rotary is no exception and the need to move forward and to “keep up with the times“, will now see the receipt via Surface Mail of the monthly editions of the RDU Magazine will now sent out and be received via e-mail.
