Community Chair – Information and Update
Since our Community Chair, Ross K, has returned from his epic QLD escapade he has been busy as usual and requested the following report/ updates be passed on for all to view;
It’s been hard for the Community Committee to meet, given me being in Queensland, and several members don’t use the on line tools. But let’s not think there is nothing happening other than the Peninsula Trail.
Eileen is in contact with the new Community Centre in regard to a couple of possible outdoor projects, a healing or community garden
We are also getting close to organising our participation in the Mornington Community Information and Support Centre Christmas Present Program, that we have helped with for many years. Last year we add the fun of the Father Christmas Train Trip. There have been preliminary discussions with Mt.Eliza Rotary Club about combining our two present programs and them participating in the train trip, this year.
Another possible project that has been presented to us is the “Prostate Cancer Awareness – Red Sock Sale” Project. Kicked off by the Rotary Club of Townsville Sunrise, it simply involves selling red socks, with the Rotary Logo, which are packaged with information on the importance of men being regularly tested. I have an information pack if you would like to know more.
I would be pleased to hear from any members interested in participating in either the Christmas or Red Socks projects.
