12th July 2021
From the Editor's Desk

Good afternoon to all Mornington Rotary Club Members, Partners and Families. Hope all is well and for those who are " staying around in Mornington " and braving the Winter I hope you managed to find your way around thru the very foggy weekend we just had. For those who have ventured North, probably a wise move. But don't forget you've got to come home sooner or later !! On that note I have just received a brief communicate from our our past President Ross, and both he and Lyn are enjoying the sunshine and have just " landfall " in Southern Queensland around Carnarvon with a pic of the local Rotary Park, and its looks very nice.

On the left Sunshine up North and on the right empty seats at Mornington, the occupants being inside by the fire !!!

Board Meeting- Wed 7th July 2021
Last Wednesday evening we conducted our first 2021/2022 Club Board Meeting and I would like to extend a very big thanks to all Board Members. The meeting was very positive and with a number of items tabled the discussion and subsequent deliberations/ recommendations were very pleasing. From the enthusiam and vibe I can see that our Club is in good hands and we should be looking to another great year at Mornington Rotary. By now our Club Secretary ( the wise old man of Mornington ) young Ian Horton has distributed the Minutes , and should their be any concerns and/or questions please do not hesitate to contact our Club President , Brian, for clarification , and on that note there is a scheduled Club Assembly Meeting for Wednesday 04th August 2021, at which a number of important Club matters will presented and discussed.

Club Meeting, this Wednesday 14th July 2021

Coming up this Wednesday the 14th July 2021, will resume our usual Club Meeting's at the Mornington Hotel within the downstairs Stratton Room. Our Guest Speaker/s will be from Peninsula Heart Centre, talking on Cardiac Health, which should prove to be very informative.  A meeting recent meeting with the Senior Cardiac Nurse and one of the resident Cardiac Doctor's informed us that " they are looking forward to talking about all things heart related " and have been a presenter, some time ago, and really enjoyed the reception they received from our Club Members , so please come along and and bring your partner join in what should be a great night. It is still very important , under current density hosipatlty requirements to inform the Hotel of expected numbers/ bums on seats. So could you please let our new Social Director Pam Hall on Mob Ph 0448 998733 or on e-mail at :  pamelahall4@outlook.com  SMS - if you are coming along or you will be an apology. We can all fit in the Stratton Room so don't fear you won't miss out on a seat , but we just need to know, thanks.

Induction of New Club Member's
On of the most important and special ceremonies that any Rotary Club conducts is the Induction of New Club Members. All going well, this week at our Club Meeting we should see the Induction of two of our newly accepted members in Jeff & Marilyn Walkley. It would be great to see as many members come along and share in this special event.

Bunning's BBQ's
As we swing in and out of COVID restrictions pertaining to public/private and more importantly community based events, one staple that seems to have endured is that old favourite the Bunning's BBQ , and our Club has been fortunate to secure a number of BBQ's over the comings months. Our first Bunning's BBQ will be conducted on Sunday 25th July 2021 , so please keep this date free, if you are in town, and our BBQ Team Captain, David Lancashire will, very shortly seeking your services for a shift over the hot plate.
