Art Show Success Celebration
Last Wednesday night we had  a celebration of  the Art Show, with most Rotarians and partners, plus some Men's Shed members, and some volunteers,  enjoying the Mornington Brewery. John gave us a brief summary of the results, the detail of which will be covered at our meeting on March 18. But in summary we are on track to do as well as last year. John thanked the many people responsible, especially those present and the Committee. Ross reinforced that and especially recognised John's energy and passion in leading it.
Ross then auctioned a painting donated by artist Terry Hadley, painted live, as a demonstration  at the Art Show,  which David Lancashire bought for a small fraction of its value. The proceeds are added to our silent auction result.
What’s coming up ?
This week, February  the 5th, it’s our first meeting for the year at The Mornington Hotel, with our  guest speaker being Stephen Daley. Stephen is the Assistant Governor for our District, responsible for the Peninsula Cluster. He will update us on what is going on at the District, Cluster and other clubs . In particular he will cover the Bushfire Relief. There will be plenty of time for questions too.
The following week, the 12th, we will have a Youth Speaker night including our recently returned Youth Program participant, Freya,  speaking of her experience in Denmark, and Hannah telling us of her RLYA week. John will Chair that night .
Our next Bunnings BBQ is on Friday Feb 14 and David L, is running it. Volunteer with him now or at this week's meeting.
On the 19th is a Board Meeting that will firm up some recommendations on what projects we should pursue and where our funds should be invested this year for our members to resolve at our full meeting on February 26.
In March we start with a great feature speaker, one of Australia’s top rated Financial Advisers, Paul Nicol. For anyone interested in superannuation or investment this will be a great night. The next week we have Kristy Kendall, Principal of Toorak College and then the week after that a full report on the Art Show.
It’s not too late to register for the District Conference in Bendigo on March 21-22. Several members are already registered. If you have even a little bit of interest - talk to Victor.
On April 15 all the Peninsula Clubs,  are holding a combined dinner to raise further funds for Bushfire Relief. As its our meeting night we will not be having a meeting that night.
Regards, and see you Wednesday night.
ps our normal Bulletin Editor is back next week, so they will get better from here !
