This week's meeting - July 17 - Guest Speaker - John Baker CEO MPSC.
With John as a guest speaker it's a great opportunity to bring a friend or colleague to hear about Mornington's challenges and plans from the perspective of our Council's CEO. We already have a few "Friends" attending. Please let Eileen know of any visitors you are bringing (or if you cannot be there). Note that for this week's meeting we may need to have a drink at the bar until 6.30 whilst the Stratton Room is changed over from a previous booking.
Our Meeting Venue
The Stratton Room at the Mornington Hotel seemed to be to everyone's satisfaction so we will be there again this week. If we are happy with that we can make it our permanent venue or if not try elsewhere. Note that the 24th and 31st we are elsewhere anyway (see below). The hotel charges $14.50 for the meal with a choice of 4 menu items, and we agreed to charge members $20. The difference will contribute to the speaker's cost and club administration.
Last week's Meeting
See a report below on our discussion regarding our Budget and Plans. John P presented the Board's recommendation for fees to be set at $300 for the year which includes $40 for the Rotary Down Under Magazine, $90 to District 9820 and $110 to Rotary International. This was agreed and has now been invoiced (how quick were John and Ian !)
