Welcome Back
At last weeks Club Meeting we welcomed back to a somewhat cold Melbourne our Club President from his trip in FNQ and from all accounts its was a great family holiday. No swimming in the beach due to threat of the deadly stingers and the odd Croc, but from the looks of the pool the beach wasn't missed !!!

Club Meeting, Membership Forum
At last weeks Club Meeting our host/ Guest Speaker was our own Ross Kilborn who presented a Membership Forum as well as a Community Report/ Update. Ross commenced his presentation with the Community Report and from all accounts , after what may seem to be a slow Winter Period there are a number of Projects in hand and also a number of proposed ones for our Club to ponder/investigate and deliberate on. With our Current Projects we are now committed on an Annual Basis to the Joint Mornington / Mt Eliza Christmas Train Ride to take place on the first Sat in Dec 22. The Moonah Project is very rapidly growing momentum and our Club along with Mt M and Mt E Rotary Clubs are all moving towards fully supporting this Project with all proposed funds to go to The Mornington Community Centre. The Auction is now scheduled to be held on Sat 18th Feb 2023. Our Club's support for the new Bays Cancer Centre has been approved and Jo Davie will be providing updates and ways in which we can support this Major Health Facility. Ross informed us of the opportunity to support a number of proposed Projects in the near future that being: We have been allocated a 10k Grant from local Council for an asset within the Gateway Park Precinct, also the proposal for a Community Project at either the Eastern Green Wedge that starts at Gateway Park and extends to the Mornington Foreshore and also another Project that could be instigated within the area of The Mornington Heritage Steam Train Station and to include the easement that extends from Watts Road, across the Nepean Hwy along the old Train Line all the way to Gateway Park in the centre of Town.
Certainly there is scope for our Club to make an impact of our local town with some great proposals, what we need from here is for all Members to come forward with a consensus of where they see our resources allocated  to one two or all three projects  !!
The second part of the evening was spent with a very thought provoking subject of Club Membership which mainly focused on the ways in which we as Members can attract and offer Members of the local Community to engage with our Club with the view to become active Club Members. Each Member present was asked to spend a few minutes of 'quiet time' and then offer a proposal of what they and an individual could do. The re were a number of positive suggestions some of which are to "target" potential Members to invite them to one of our Guest Speakers Evenings, buy inviting along our Art Show Sponsors to see what do and where there sponsorship $$ goes, to join the local Business Community Morning Breakfast's and engage with Professionals at this outlet, buy personally asking friends and known business/ professional associate's along to Club Meetings. A number of positive ideas are presented but the one item of note was that all Members were keen to not have this forum as a "one night stand" but to continue with further forums on a regular basis until the end of this Calendar, as one Members said , lets keep the ball rolling and ensure this ideas gain momentum and real outcomes.. To this end we will now have two more progress Membership forums between now and the XMAS Recess, that being at our Club Meetings on Wednesday 02nd Nov and then again on Wednesday 07th Dec 22.

Lift The Lid - Mental Health Day - Today 10th Oct 2022

Today, Monday 10th October marks a very significant day with Rotary, being that it is World Mental Health Day, we as Rotarians via our own ARH have all taken this very serious alignment of Mental Health and over many, many years as one of our keys area's of focus which we have supported the cause and subsequently provided massive amounts of resources to those in need of assistance. Every Rotary Club its its own small way plays a vital role and combined as one huge Organisation we can make real efforts to fight this insidious alignment.

At our upcoming Club Meeting this Wednesday evening it is requested we have a full house and support this event. The theme of the evening will be:
MY HAT, MY SHIRT, MY STORY, so not only can we wear your favourite Hat but how about doning on that very Special Shirt etc and throughout the evening each member if they feel like it give a quick one minute story about what makes there Hat and Shirt Special to them !! As well as this we will also have a few Trivia Type Questions on ARH, Lift The Lid and maybe Rotary in General with just maybe a few generous donations to the questions ?? This is great night and I would encourage all members if there Wifes/ Partners are available to join in and support Lift The Lid
