The Rotary Club of Mornington conducted its Annual 2019 AGM on Wednesday 13th November which was accompanied by a Club Assembly Meeting. The evening also saw a very special event that all Rotary Clubs hold in high reverence, that being the Induction Ceremony of a new Club Member, Mr Rod Birt. The AGM was conducted with the normal administrative procedures, previous AGM Minutes presented and passed, no business arising and no General Business being presented. The nominations for the Clubs Secretary and Treasurer for the 2020-21 Office Term were elected and congratulations to both Ian Horton (Sec) and John Parkinson (Tres) for their appointments. The President Elect & Nominee are still being negotiated and we should see a result in the coming weeks. All in all a very brief but professionally thorough AGM was conducted. Ian has already distributed the 2019 AGM Minutes and a copy can be sourced on our clubs Web Page under the Members only log-in area. Prior to the evening meal being served, our Club President, Ross Kilborn, had the pleasure of formally inducting (this being Ross’s first induction ceremony) our newest member Mr Rod Birt. Rod is currently one of the many professional Relator’s of one of our Clubs supporters and sponsors from Nicholas Lynch Real Estate. Well done Rod and we are very pleased to have you join our Club, congratulations on your induction. Rotary Club of Mornington , Mr Ross Kilborn formally welcoming Mr Rod Birt our newest Club Member Following the evening meal the focus of the remainder of the evening was spent discussing a wide range of club general business matters and also a number of appointed Chair’s from Youth to Community, providing a brief overview of past and important upcoming events and projects. One of the very important presentations was that of the Interplast Medical Project that was conducted in the latter part of this year, in Island Nation of Samoa. A full presentation accompanied by a number of striking graphics can be found on our Clubs Web Page. This report is well worth a read, and once again highlight’s the amazing outcomes that Rotary has been able to sponsor in the support in life changing Medical Services. The Interplast Medical Team " on the ground in Samoa " , well done to all A special mention goes to our Clubs Social/Entertainment Officer, Mrs Eileen Prudden, for her volunteer work in the provision of The Story Dog literacy program. Eileen along with a number of fellow volunteers all who were accompanied by their loyal four legged friends featured in an article in the November issue of the Mornington Peninsula Magazine (page 39).
